Strong Root Capital invests ‘hands-on’ in small and medium-sized trading companies, manufacturers and service providers, with an annual turnover of between €5 million and €150 million. We focus on propositions which face challenges, such as carve-outs, turnarounds, MBI/MBOs, consolidation or the need for buy&build.
As Strong Root Capital, we invest on our own account and we work closely with private and professional investors. As a result, our investment horizon is not set in stone but depends very much on whether we, as a shareholder, can continue to add value to a company in a sustainable way.
Financing new initiatives is only one aspect of the challenge most businesses face. They need a clear and soundly-based understanding of their most promising market prospects, and they need to make clear choices about the direction their growth will take. We assist those companies with both knowledge and capital, and we prefer to be involved on a daily basis. Our involvement is mainly practical, so that we can share responsibility for strategically important decisions.
Right from the start, we determine, together with management, what operational and strategic direction the company should take. Together we set down milestones on the route to that goal, and we put a high priority on achieving those milestones. In our experience, this immediately leads to the greatest possible value creation, even in the first year. Once decisions are made, we assist management in implementing them. This ensures that we get immediate feedback and that timely adjustments can be made where necessary.
